1. Our aim
Everyone in a building should be able to report a problem and read what's meant for them, whatever their eyesight, hearing, movement or reading. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on the Sused app, the Sused web app and this website.
We treat accessibility problems as bugs, and fix them as we would anything else broken.
2. What you can expect
- Text you can enlarge to twice its size, or with your phone's text size setting, without losing content.
- Strong contrast: body text is at least 7 to 1 against its background, and nothing you need to read is below 4.5 to 1.
- Colour never works alone: every status and urgency has an icon and a word, such as “Fixed” with a tick.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a clear focus outline showing where you are.
- Labels and structure that make sense with VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA.
- Buttons and links at least 44 pixels tall, so they're easy to tap.
- Less movement when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Plain English, with jargon explained the first time it appears.
- No time limits, except the sign-in code, which lasts 10 minutes. You can ask for a new one at any time.
3. How we check
- Every colour in our design system is tested against the WCAG contrast ratios before it can be used.
- Every component and every page of this website is checked automatically with axe.
- We check screens by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, at phone and desktop sizes.
4. What isn't right yet
Sused is new and still being built. We know about these problems:
- Documents that your building uploads, such as PDFs of safety reports and minutes, may not be accessible. Ask your managing agent for another format; we're working on ways to help them provide one.
- Videos that people add to reports don't have captions.
- The Sused app isn't in the App Store or Google Play yet. Until it is, the web app works in any modern browser.
5. Tell us about a problem
If something on Sused is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email hello@sused.co with “Accessibility” in the subject. Tell us what you were trying to do, the page or screen, and the device or assistive technology you use, if you can.
We'll reply within 5 working days.
6. If you're not happy with our reply
You can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). In Northern Ireland, contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
7. About this statement
We prepared this statement on 28 September 2026, and we review it whenever we make a significant change to Sused.
